Michael Werner Gallery

Michael Werner Gallery presents modern and contemporary European and American art.

The gallery opened in New York in 1990 with an exhibition of Hero Paintings by Georg Baselitz. The gallery currently occupies the historic East 77 Street townhouse where legendary dealer Leo Castelli once kept his gallery.

Recent exhibitions include James Lee Byars: The Rest is Silence, Décor: A Conquest by Marcel Broodthaers, Polke - Bernstein - Amber and major surveys of important drawings by Francis Picabia, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Peter Doig.
