German Language Learning Club
"In 1990, an effort was started to preserve the heritage and tradition of the the New York City neighborhood once known as German Town (present day Yorkville). Today, this 14-year old cooperative of students and teachers pursue the study of German language and culture in an informal environment. The German Language Learning Club is a non-profit organization run and supported by its members. It offers 7 levels of German for adults and 4 levels for toddlers to teens, as well as social and cultural events. The cost of the class depends on the number of students enrolled each semester, but usually fluctuates around $400 for the course (plus books). The 15 week (30 hour) course is held on Tuesdays, from 6:30PM to 8:30PM.
