American Council on Germany

 

"The American Council on Germany (ACG) is a private, nonprofit, national organization incorporated in New York in 1952, dedicated to promoting open communication and mutual understanding between the Federal Republic of Germany and the United States.In pursuit of this mission, the Council:-organizes high-level discussion meetings, conferences, and symposia where informed and influential leaders from government, business, and academia can meet and exchange views on important bilateral and international issues facing both countries;-identifies and brings together future public policy and corporate leaders from the United States and Germany for annual Young Leaders Conferences;-anticipates emerging problems in the bilateral relationship and encourages the search for mutually beneficial solutions in Washington and Berlin;-sponsors the McCloy Fellowship Program, which promotes the exchange of experience and information among selected American and German specialists in fields such as agriculture, art, the environment, journalism, and urban affairs;-works to geographically expand the transatlantic dialogue through its Eric M. Warburg Chapters across the United States;-publishes papers on current issues in politics and economics in the two countries;-advances the democratic values, common security interests, and free market principles shared by the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.
