Bach Vespers: Cantata 111- Was mein Gott will, das g'scheh allzeit

On the 6th Sunday after Epiphany Bach Vespers features Bach's Cantata 111 - Was mein Gott will, das g'scheh allezeit (What my God wants, will always occur) composed in Leipzig in 1725.  Other music includes:  Johann Michael Bach - Halt, was du hast; and for organ, J. S. Bach’s  Toccata in D dorian, BWV 538.             

Artists: The Holy Trinity Bach Choir & Bach Players on baroque period instruments; Soprano Jennifer Bates; Countertenor Jason Abrams; Tenor John Kawa; Bass Joe Damon Chappel; under the direction of Cantor Rick Erickson.

Bach Vespers is currently in its 42nd season and continues weekly through April 2010.  It features renderings of the cantatas of J. S. Bach on their appropriate liturgical Sundays and was the first, and is the longest-running series of its kind in this hemisphere. The assembly gathering each week is a diverse community of people in age, lifestyle, sexual orientation, religious affiliation and nationality.
