About Us

GermanyinNYC.org is the new website built especially to serve the German-interest community in metro New York, and is owned and operated by the German-American Community Project, Inc.

New York has been the gateway to America for millions of German immigrants. Their hopes and dreams, traditions and hard work helped make New York the city it is today. There may not be much left of the old Klein-Deutschland on the Lower East Side; and only a few places in Yorkville still uphold their German-American heritage. But on any given day in New York, you can enjoy and participate in all kinds of things German:

> From a cold German draft beer and hearty German food to classy Riesling.
> From cutting-edge German rock bands to oompah bands with schuhplattler dancers.
> From world-famous symphony orchestras to innovative ballet companies.
> From German films to art exhibitions in museums and galleries.

This website will tell you where you can find it. Everyday - all over town.

The German-American Community Project, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization founded and supported by the German-American community of New York, the German Consulate General, the Goethe Institute, major German cultural institutions and a growing number of corporations, groups and people like you.
